The game of golf has many parallels to the game of life. The Great Bobby Jones famously compared life and golf with this quote

“Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots, but you have to play the ball where it lies.”

Anyone who has learned to love the game of golf can relate to the sentiment behind this statement.

Golf is unique, in that it is one of, if not the only, competitive sports where the competition is with yourself. Your opponents shots have no affect on how you play your game. I also believe that it is also one of the only sports where on any given day a complete amateur can hit a truly magical shot akin to shots hit by Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus.

Golf, by nature, is a sport that encourages travel and friendship, while simultaneously being able to transcend culture and language. Play a round of golf with a complete stranger and by the end of it you will have shared laughs and tears, triumphs and heartaches and in just 4 short hours that complete stranger will feel like a life-long friend.

The courses we play or dream of playing as golfers hold very special places in our hearts. The Logos from those courses are iconic, unmistakeable and memorable. The Balls of Life represent those treasured memories.
